Building the knowledge, skills, and opportunities that empower individuals and communities to shape their own futures — from early childhood literacy to professional development.
Education is central to breaking the cycle of poverty. In the communities we serve, access to quality education remains constrained by inadequate infrastructure, teacher shortages, and economic barriers that force children — especially girls — out of school prematurely.
SATAF’s Education Division works to remove these barriers by supporting school infrastructure, providing scholarships, building teacher capacity, and equipping young people with 21st-century skills including digital literacy and AI fundamentals.
Constructing and renovating classrooms, libraries, science laboratories, and sanitation facilities in underserved public schools. We prioritise schools in communities where our water and health programs are active, creating holistic community development.
Providing full and partial scholarships for academically deserving students from low-income households, with a priority focus on girls’ education and students from the most underserved communities in northern Nigeria.
Delivering structured professional development workshops for public school teachers, covering subject mastery, child-centred pedagogy, inclusive education, and the use of digital tools to enhance classroom learning.
Operating digital literacy centres in community schools, equipping students and adults with foundational computer skills, internet literacy, and an introduction to coding and AI concepts relevant to African development contexts.
Running youth clubs, mentorship programs, and leadership camps that build confidence, civic responsibility, and entrepreneurial thinking in young people aged 14–24 in our target communities.
Addressing the barriers that cause girls to drop out — including period poverty, early marriage, and safety concerns — through targeted support, community sensitization, and girls’-only safe space programs.
