The journey of Water Support began in the spring of 2022 with a single message. It was an evening like any other as I sat in my living room on the outskirts of Washington, D.C. when a series of pictures landed in my inbox. The images, sent by locals in a remote African village, showed the heartbreaking daily struggle for clean water. Shared over social media, their plea for help was urgent and desperate, echoing the cries of countless others across Sub-Saharan Africa.
As I stared at those pictures, they struck a deep chord within me. Having grown up in this part of the world, I knew these struggles all too well. These faces could have been my family, my neighbors, or even myself. Their pain and perseverance reminded me of the harsh realities millions endure due to the lack of clean water—a crisis that fuels ethnic conflicts, forced migrations, and severe health challenges.
Motivated by their plight, I reached out to friends, colleagues, and compassionate individuals who shared the belief that access to clean water is a basic human right. Together, we pooled resources and began raising funds to address this crisis. Through our collective efforts, we were able to acquire drilling equipment—a critical step toward providing sustainable water solutions.
Today, Water Support continues to stand as a beacon of hope for communities in need. But the journey is far from over. The scale of the water crisis demands global collaboration and action.
